Open Air is the latest Wireless Original audio drama from writer Zalie Burrow, recorded earlier this year.
Ruby leaves her beloved, pandemic-struck theatre company and takes the long drive back to her father’s Devon farm to find him struggling. While he has lost hope, Ruby is still full of ideas, and takes him on a trip to the Minack Theatre, where they learn about the story of Rowena Cade. Ruby is inspired, and sets her sights on turning her father’s barn into a community theatre. All she has to do now is convince him not to sell the farm…

Loved it! Fantastic!
“All’s well that ends well” – Bravo!
A joy to listen to when so much that’s happening around us is pretty grim. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed how the writer found the intrinsic sensitive values of the farmer. The plot surprise of the estate agent was great. The music, it must be difficult to write music that does not fill the head or dominate the writers thoughts but it worked. All in all, very thought provoking.
Love it so much
