Lewis Carroll’s exquisite manuscript book is one of the great treasures of both English literature and the British Library. It tells the story of Alice in a form close to the world- famous published version and, with The British Library, we were delighted to host a live reading of the original text, which has almost never been heard in public.
Our reading took place at the Library, on the 7th February 2016 at 2.30pm with the most incredible cast –
Charles Dance
Isla Blair
Toby Jones
Timothy Allsop
Grace Chilton
Joanna David
Charlie Higson
Miriam Margolyes
Adjoa Andoh
and Gemma Whelan
and with live music played and composed by Gary Carpenter.
Thanks to everyone who attended – we had a full house! Photos of the event and information about how to download the reading will be
available soon.
